Fishes & Cats

Serafina has been hospitalized since her reconstructive foot surgery (left and right feet). After her recovery, we were sent to rehab. We left after approximately 2 weeks to go home and continue healing. Then the casts came off and rods removed from feet and the word came out that we would have to return to rehab and stay again! That wasn't so bad as the entire rehab staff, housekeeping, and security are all so kind. But the rehab is not home with friends, relatives, neighbors and pets. Dream Guitars

Our quitling group discovered this project and fell in love with it. As I made this quilt, I remembered my son, when he was 6, spent 10 days at Children's Hospital of Milwaukee. That was a very scary time for the entire family. I know he would have loved to have received one of these quilts. He is all grown up now, married and healthy. Thank you Downy for what you are doing for today's children and their families.

Dalmations

I am a retired teacher and a beginning quilter. While learning and practicing my skills, I wanted to also do something worthwhile for the children I love. I have two grandchildren who were very excited that I was making a quilt for a child in recovery from illness in a hospital. They both gave their stamp of approval so I know someone will be very happy with their own quilt. My grand daughter wants to learn to make quilts too. She will be a part of the Downey quilt memories.
