"I made sure my daughter had one while she was in college. She always said one of her favorite things about laundry was the smell of Downy in freshly laundered clothes. Although her dorms always had laundry facilities, it wasn't where she wanted to hang out while waiting for the rinse cycle. She said the Downy ball was an awesome invention for college students! How to Use

All you have to do to enjoy the convenience of our Downy Ball is pour the Downy fabric softener of your choice up to the right fill line in your Downy bottle cap, seal it, and drop it in at the start of the wash on top of your fabrics.

How it works

The Downy Ball time-releases Downy automatically.  So your clothes feel the wonders of your favorite Downy fabric softener and you feel more carefree.

During the wash cycle, the Downy Ball floats on top of the water. Just before the rinse cycle begins, the washer's spinning motion opens the Downy Ball automatically releasing the fabric softener in the rinse cycle.

Measuring Instructions

1. Fill the ball to the appropriate line for the Downy fabric softener of your choice
2. Pull the ring tightly to close the lid
3. Drop the ball in at the start of the wash

Please note: the Downy Ball should not be used in HE machines.

Q.When should I add the Downy Ball to my washer?
A.Fill the Downy Ball to the  appropriate line for your favorite Downy fabric softener, pull the ring tightly to close the lid, and drop it in at the start of your wash.
Q.Can I use the Downy Ball in my HE washer?
A.No. The Downy Ball is designed for use in regular machines. HE machines have a built-in, automatic fabric softener dispenser. Simply add the appropriate amount of the Downy liquid of your choice to the fabric-softener tray (often right next to the detergent tray) before each load.
Q.Does the Downy Ball affect the drying time of fabrics?
A.Nope, your dryer settings are the only thing that should affect drying time. Try upping the spin cycle of your machine if your laundry is drying too slowly.
