How to Use

When you add Ultra Downy depends a great deal on your washer type. These days, fabric softener is easier to use than ever:

How it works

During the rinse cycle, Ultra Downy is released into the water where it’s infused into fabrics for fresh, soft results.

Softeners help the surfaces of clothing feel soft to the touch. They also help neutralize the negatively charged particles in scratchy fabrics that cause static cling. And in addition to incredible freshness, many Ultra Downy scents also contain Renewing Scent Pearls, which release with movement.

Measuring Instructions

Your Ultra Downy bottle cap has three fill lines.
 
Lower line — for medium loads
Middle line — for large loads or front-loading HE machine medium loads
Upper line  — for extra-large loads or front-loading HE machine large loads

A.Renewing Scent Pearls are our innovative scent technology that makes scent last longer than ever in your fabrics. Each microscopic pearl contains scent, which releases with movement for fresh bursts of fragrance.
Q.Will Ultra Downy irritate my skin or cause allergic reactions?
A.Ultra Downy should not irritate skin or cause allergic reactions for most people. However if you find yourself affected, we do have a dermatologist-tested Downy that’s free of dyes and perfumes. Learn more about Ultra Downy Free & Sensitive.
Q.Does Ultra Downy affect the drying time of fabrics?
A.Nope, your dryer settings are the only thing that should affect drying time. Try upping the spin cycle of your machine if your laundry is drying too slowly.
Q.Will Ultra Downy stain my fabrics?
A.All fabric softeners do run a small risk of staining. To prevent staining, be sure not to pour undiluted fabric softener directly onto fabrics. Here are some ways to remove fabric  softener stains if they do occur:
  • Nonwashable fibers  — Dampen the stain with water and rub gently with bar soap (avoid deodorant soap) or a liquid laundry detergent like Tide. Rinse thoroughly, and then blot excess liquid and allow to dry.
  • Washable fibers  — Again, dampen the stain with water and rub gently with bar soap (avoid deodorant soap) or a liquid laundry detergent like Tide. Rinse thoroughly, and then send fabrics through the wash again.
